Yeah. Things are back to normal.

Jen picked one up last week. We’re still waiting on her verdict. Lets nudge her along!

You guys have a great 4th of July. Celebrate independence and freedom…regardless of your political leanings or lack there of, your religious beliefs, or lack there of, color, creed, origin…whatever. Celebrate. Find a veteran and thank him. Hell, if he’s a Vietnam vet, you could probably buy him a beer and he’d be grateful. Those guys have stories man. They’re a generation after the greatest…and our Greatest Generation is slowly leaving us. If you’ve the privilege of being able to speak with a WWII veteran, shake his hand and say thank you, and most of all, listen.

On my way to LA back in March, I met a female WWII veteran. Spry and spritely and man, she had some stories to tell. I loved it…I loved listening to her talk about the emotion and the work and how proud she was to have served. SHE paved the way so I could serve, and I thank her for that.

Enjoy your beer, enjoy your BBQ, enjoy your highly entertaining explosive devices, but most of all…enjoy your freedoms!!

I’m not a perfume girl…I mean, yeah, I want to smell good, but it’s usually an afterthought more than a distinct part of my routine. Kind of an “Oh hell, I need some sniffgood on” as I grab something and kind of haphazardly spray it all over the place.

Now that you know way too much about my personal grooming habits, I have something else to overshare…lately I’ve been leaning toward more ‘masculine’ or androgynous scents.  Husband has a cologne…I think it’s like…Polo Blue or something like that…and I keep grabbing at it.  I also love the scent of his shave gel and I keep ganking the Axe body spray.

I still like the feminine scents, and my favorite smell of all time IS sugar and lemon, but here lately, I’ve been wanting something a bit more ‘dominant’.  I think, my ultimate “I’M GOING FOR THIS” fragrance right now is Endymion, by Penhaligons.

I’m no perfume or fragrance expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but this particular scent smells…powerful.  Musk. Leather. Black pepper.  Sandalwood.  It all smells like a very sexy…powerful…I don’t know…just dominant…combination. I wore Endymion a few weeks ago, and as I walked past Mr. Shimmer his eyes narrowed just a bit and he asked, “What are you wearing?” with a bit of a growl.

Me likey.

Do you guys ever pull a switch like that, and kind of break out of the girly sweet scents into something more dominant and sensual?

Sometimes all it takes is that extra oomph to convince your body to kick some viral butt, right??  Of course, I’ll probably get well in time for my husband to get sick, and goodness knows you throw two sick adults in a house together they want to strangle each other.

We went a couple of nights ago and spoke with a recruiter, talked to him along with one of my son’s teenage friends. Friend has decided to join the Army. Now, it’s his choice and for him it’s a fantastic decision to make. For lots of reasons. But that’s neither here nor there…sitting and talking with that NCO reminded me of my time in the military, brief though it was…

I was just organizing my stuff, trying to see where I am on some things, and I realized…I have a butt ton of eyeliner. I don’t wear half of it.  Same goes for lip product. I have SO MUCH of it and I don’t stop buying it…and I won’t and I know that…but I didn’t realize I had so much of it.

Then I realized I’m totally NOT alone in this so…I have to know…what do you keep buying despite having mounds of it in your traincase?
