A couple of days ago I was breezing through Sephora in my usual frenzied/swatching/browsing state when I stopped to check out Lancome’s Fever Gloss.   I was orginally drawn to Sunbaked Coral, a frosty coral pink with golden shimmer, but it was quickly bumped to number two on the Must-Have list when Volcanic Pink caught my eye.

Volcanic Pink is an incredibly electric pink.  Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t flourescent, but it is vivid.  It has a pink iridescence to it that gives a full-on, patent, glossy finish.  It has a hot pink pearl that really reminded me of the effect you get with MAC’s Elle, which has that unabashedly sexy red pearl to it.  Volcanic Pink is definitely a different colour than Elle, but the formula embodies a lot of the same charecteristics of Elle.

I know this gloss will look so perfect on it’s own, but absolutely brilliant over a hot pink lipsticks like MAC Pro’s Show Orchid, Elizabeth Arden’s Pink Vibrations, and MAC’s Slimshine in Rock Out.   Based on what I’ve heard and seen in swatches, I’d be willing to bet this would look phenomenal with the new MAC Slimshine due out with Cool Heat; Tropic Glow.

Unfortunately I was cut short on time and had to dash out of the store without making this baby mine, but as I sit and type this, my lemming has gone into the acute, uncurable stages.  I WILL make time for a trip to Sephora tomorrow.

You can find Lancome’s Fever Gloss at: Sephoras and Sephora.com, Nordstroms and Nordstoms.com, Macys and Macys.com, Bloomingdale and Bloomingdales.com and of course at lancome-usa.com.
