Beauty Swag
The NY Times recently wrote a fairly scathing article on beauty bloggers, and all the swag they receive from companies looking for a low cost but highly effective marketing method, much to the disgruntlement of many of my peers. I understand the Times’ point, to a degree. It’s easy to worry that readers won’t get honest product reviews from bloggers for fear of the blogger losing free product.
I’m telling y’all right now, I don’t see the need to just run a company’s product into the ground, but if something is just a bad product, or it doesn’t work for me…for whatever reason…I’ll tell you. I won’t shred the company to pieces, because I don’t believe in that, but I will give my readers honest and timely feedback on the products I use, whether they’re samples sent from corporate offices, or something I picked up while out and about shopping.
I’m here, as a blogger, to give you guys my thoughts on lots of different products, drugstore beauty or department store brand. Sometimes my impression won’t be favorable to the company, simply because the product was completely useless for me. I’ll tell you that, and at the same time tell you why I think that product may be better for someone else with different preferences from mine. And, if I find something to be so completely amazing that I’m hooked on it? I’ll tell you that too!
Basically, I just wanted to tell you guys that the reviews I give are my honest reaction to the product, not my attempts to score ‘moar free stuffzz’.

That’s what I’ll be doing my best to give.
